Europa League Round-Up

PSG 2-0 Maccabi Tel Aviv

PSG complete the ideal start to their European campaign in the third minute when a Ceara irritated was poorly dealt with, allowing Peguy Luyindula to fire home. Schalke aim Guillaume Hoarau doubled the escort on the hour spot when he fired past Maccabi 'keeper Liran Strauber.

Bayer Leverkusen 3-0 Tavriya

Bayer was still faster out of the blocks than PSG. Michal Kadlec took benefit of a poor punch by visiting goalkeeper Vitaliy Postranskyi to provide his side the lead in the first minute. Kadlec then scored a very important second goal five minutes from time, heading home from a corner. Recurring hero Michael Ballack then scored his first goal in his second spell at the Bay Arena with a penalty in strike time.
