FIFA World Rankings: Brazil back to No. 1 spot in FIFA rankings; Spain falls to no. 2

The Brazil football team regained bragging rights as the world's top-ranked soccer team, as it overtook Spain for No. 1 spot on the FIFA world rankings, which were released on Wed. 28.

The Brazilians, considered as expected finalist for this summer's World Cup in South Africa, overtook the European champions, which held down first place for the past 5 months.

Brazil has been ranked 1st overall a total of 142 months since 1993.

Canada moved up 1 spot to 63rd.

Portugal climbed 1 spot to 3rd, as it traded places with the Netherlands. Italy remained at No 5.
Among the top-20, Argentina (7th), the United States (14th) and Nigeria (20th) all moved up 2 spots.

The 2010 FIFA World Cup begins on June 11.
